Our Green Credentials
DK Holdings Limited has always endeavoured to
minimise its carbon footprint.
In recent years the team has implemented a variety of measures and continuously looked at investments to reduce the company’s environmental impact.
We partnered with EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, to increase our Sustainability Performance Score and are pleased to have been awarded a Silver Medal in May 2023 as a recognition of our EcoVadis Rating.
D.K. Holdings Limited first commissioned a Scope 1 & 2 Carbon Footprint Report in August 2022. This gave us a benchmark to work from and we have since been helping NatWest with the development of their Carbon Planner.
Below is a timeline of our achievements thus far:
November 2022
We were awarded Gold Membership of The Green Organisation, one of the world’s leading environment groups. Supporting this fantastic non-profit group means that we are actively adopting measures that will continue to improve our quest to be greener for future generations.
In October 2023, we became an Accredited Platinum Member, continuing our pledge to operate the business in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.
Early 2023
We partnered with Serious Tissues, who supply the UK’s first carbon-neutral toilet roll and who plant a tree for every roll sold.
Spring 2023
In March 2023 we completed the installation of 585 additional solar panels which now enables us to produce 33% of the energy required to run the site annually via solar power.
The company renewed its Life Assurance with Zurich and in return 10 Ceriops tagal were planted on our behalf and are growing in project Eden Reforestation Projects, Madagascar.
August 2023
We started a trial shipping direct with DHL via their GoGreen Plus initiative which means shipments use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with the aim to reduce our Scope 3 emissions.
October 2023
We have been accepted as an Accredited Platinum Member by The Green Organisation.
Across our production and office facilities, we have replaced all fluorescent lighting with LED.
Ongoing projects
We are continuing to move our business fleet to entirely electric vehicles.
The management team also intends to further reduce our carbon emissions by installing double glazing and commissioning a further Carbon footprint report as well as a supplier questionnaire to help us understand our Scope 3 emissions.
We are actively encouraging our partners to access electronic versions of our brochures rather than requesting hard copies and are gradually replacing plastic packaging when sending out customer orders with recyclable materials.
We aim to support our customers in their efforts to improve their green credentials, such as offering the innovative Strip and Replate service.
