Since joining DK Holdings in December 2024, Kevin Marshall has become a familiar face to many of our customers across the South West of the United Kingdom. With years of experience in sales and a strong background in customer support, Kevin brings both energy and empathy to his role, helping customers find the right diamond tooling solutions for their applications.
We caught up with him to talk about his first year with Team DK, the learning curve that comes with joining a precision diamond tooling manufacturer and what makes working in this industry so rewarding.
Kevin, you joined DK Holdings at the end of 2024. How has your first year been so far?
“It has been a great first year! I am really grateful to DK Holdings for giving me the opportunity to join the team.
It is a completely new industry for me, so there has been a lot to learn, but everyone has been incredibly supportive and patient along the way. There is a strong sense of teamwork here and they have made me feel like part of the family from the start.
I have really enjoyed getting to know the product range in more detail and building relationships with both new and existing customers in my area.“
What has been the biggest learning curve for you?
“Definitely getting to grips with the wide range of applications our products serve.
Coming into a new industry, one of the biggest learning curves has been understanding the product range and how it is used across different sectors. DK’s portfolio is extensive, so it has taken some time to learn how everything fits into various industries and meets different customer needs.
But honestly, that has also been one of the most interesting parts of the job. There is always something new to learn, and no two days are ever the same.“
What do you enjoy most about your role as Sales Representative for the South West?
“What I enjoy most is meeting new people and learning about what they do.
No two days are ever the same. One day I could be visiting a small local workshop, the next a large manufacturer.
The South West, much like the rest of the UK, has such a diverse customer base, and it is always inspiring to see how passionate and proud our customers are about their work.
I really value taking the time to understand each customer’s needs so that we can find the right solution together. The problem-solving side of the job is something I particularly enjoy, working closely with our team to make sure we are providing the best support possible.
Building those relationships, seeing how our diamond tooling helps their businesses grow and knowing that, in some small way, we have been able to contribute to their success is incredibly rewarding.“
DK Holdings places a strong emphasis on innovation. How does that come across in your work?
“It is great representing a company that is always improving and pushing forward.
I enjoy speaking to our R&D department to see what is possible or more to the point, the love a project that others may see as impossible!
That drive for innovation is part of what makes DK Holdings stand out as a UK manufacturer of precision diamond tooling.“
And finally, what do you do to relax when you are not on the road?
“I have recently started going to the gym in the mornings, which really helps set me up for the day.
When I am home, I like to spend time with my wife and our dog. We usually go for walks in the evening and unwind after a busy week… that is, unless there is a DIY project underway that apparently cannot be done without my “supervision”!“
